3. Integrate control network with existing corporate data network
If a corporate network is available, you may want to consider taking advantage of its infrastructure.

CobraNet network with the network that carries corporate data.
Control Network
Integrating the Mongoose or entire audio control network with an existing corporate data network
requires a little extra work (mostly coordination with IT personnel), but its benefits are worthwhile.
By connecting to the existing network, you gain tremendous flexibility in managing the host
devices. It provides many of the same benefits of an isolated control network – the ability to access,
view, and configure all the Mongoose devices from anywhere within the network. Depending on
the available infrastructure, this may even include wireless access, which can be very handy when
moving around a building checking the physical connection of the RADs and/or performing audio
tests. In addition, this approach likely provides Internet access as well. Also, if the existing data
network contains a VPN (Virtual Private Network), you can connect to the Mongoose system from
a remote location. If you plan to integrate with an existing network, consult the organization’s IT
department.
