RAD to DSP (or other device) using Multiple Mongoose Devices
e following sample application is a bit more complex. It is a hotel that contains several meeting rooms,
a ballroom, and a restaurant/bar. It is a prime target for the Mongoose because of the low channel count
in each room and the scattered locations of each audio input and output. is system requires more than
eight RADs and, therefore, requires more than one Mongoose. e specific requirements are as follows:
Meerkat Room (used for meetings, conference sessions, roundtable discussions)
• Six microphones on one side of the room
• Four powered speakers high on the wall – on the sides and in the back of the room
Cusimance Room (used mostly for presentations)
• Two microphones – one in the northwest corner and one in the southeast corner
• Amplification of audio from a computer. is computer could be located in the northwest corner
or in the southeast corner of the room.
• Two to four powered speakers mounted high on the wall – in the southwest and northeast corners
of the room
Atilax Ballroom (used for roundtable discussions, presentations, music performances)
• Seven microphones to be placed on the west, north, and/or south sides of the room
• Amplification of audio from a computer, DVD player, or similar device
• Four powered speakers on the north, south, and east sides of the room.
Hotel Restaurant that also contains a bar
Carnivore Cantina (the restaurant)
• Connection for a satellite music service to the hotel’s central audio system
• Connection for a CD jukebox to the hotel’s central audio system
Botswana Bar
• Connection for cable TV to the hotel’s central audio system
• Connection for a TV with DVD player to hotels central audio system
